You may possibly need a "huller". Oats require the use of a huller. The combine removes the oats from the stalk, but there is still a seed casing that surrounds the oat which must be removed prior to grinding or rolling the oats. I'm not sure if this is also the case with wheat or not. Simple hullers have been made by using one of the flour mills that you can buy from Agri-Supply and glueing a rubber disc to one of the grinding plates and opening the plates up. The effect is to "rub" the grain and sorta roll the casing off gently. A quick air blast would then separate the grain from the loose casings. In other words, you would "hull" the grain before sending it to the cleaner/fanning mill, and then you would grind.<BR>

Hopefully, someone else will chime in as to whether or not this is actually necessary with wheat from the combine.<BR>
