Keven, sounds like you found a good sifter. Sometime when you have time could you e-mail a picture or two of the sifter so that I might build one similar. Thanks,

OK guys,

I just picked up a Meadows drum style meal sifter and need a
little help.

I believe it was made in 1968, ‘cause the serial
number ends in “-68” and the second one I picked up for parts is
obviously newer and is tagged”-77”.

So, I checked the Meadows website without much help, and I’m
not patient enough to wait until Monday, so I wonder if anyone can help.

The basic function I understand, however, there is one part
I cannot figure out how to put back on.  On one end of the drum, each horizontal
runner

In the drum has a short piece of wood on the outside of the
screen with a notch cut in it.  Laying inside is a wooden piece of wood
with a metal frame and a spring, as well as a bolt going through one end.
This obviously rides inside the notches to give it a whack as it’s going
around to assist in the screening process.

But I’ll be dogged if I can figure out where this
thing was mounted inside the  box.

Can anyone help so I don’t have to look at this thing
all weekend without getting to work on it?

Thanks

If you want to try to ‘splain it to me over the phone,
email me and I’ll shoot you my phone #.
