I have not been on the list long and have never posted on it before. I have been on the Syrup makers list with Ken for years and enjoy it very much. Here is what I want to ask:

I am looking for info on a mill I have not seen anyone talk about. I have had this thing for a few years and have not done anything with it yet. Hope to soon. Here is what is embossed on the cast iron housing:

Built by Leonard D. Harrison, New Haven, Conn. USA This is in a circle on the end of the mill.
In the center of the above embossing is: The Best & Fastest Grinder in the World on one side. On the other side in the circle is: Patented Sept. 1, 1868, Dec. 29, 1868, Jan. 9, 1872, Jan. 19, 1872 / In England, France, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Norway

Even the cone part of the hopper is cast iron. The cast iron body is round and measures about 23 - 24 inches across. I would think the stones are 20 inches.

On top of the cast iron mill housing is a large brass name tag and on it is embossed: Hartwell Iron Works General Agents Houston Texas

Some one tell me something about this thing!
