Dear Fellows:

I drove to Lake Charles, Louisiana yesterday and John Baily graciously
gave me several hours.
I went with a retired farmer who lives on the farm next to ours. John
explained and taught, and
I now feel comfortable moving ahead with the rebuild of the mill. On
Monday we will begin to
cut out the new pieces.

When I bought the mill I noticed that the top of the babbet bearing
which holds the outside of the shaft
(meaning the part right outside of the wood frame containing the
stationary stone) was missing. I need to know if
someone has an old one that's extra that they could sell me. The
shaft is 1.3/4" and the piece I need would be about 5" long.

Measurement across the shaft, center to center for the bolts - 3/1/2"
Measurement along the shaft right at 2 5/8".

I need this to lubricate the shaft correctly out on the stationary
stone side.

Any body got something in their bone yard?

Kindest Regards,
Faber

Ps: John, if you are reading this I just can't thank you enough for
your help! I would thank you for feeding
us but I don't want all the guys on this list to show up expecting to
be fed by your lovely wife Cindy.
