Folks,
It sounds to me like a batch of millers needs to get together and
rebuild a mill.
I am in Northeastern Louisiana. I have lots of wood, ample tools, a
blacksmith shop, machine shop, sheet metal shop and room to sleep 25 or
more. I offer my place free for this project. I have a mill I will
donate - but it is probably in worse shape than the one Faber has. Mine
is just the metal parts, but, I think, all of them.
What I do NOT have, is the knowledge, plans, experience and ability, to
rebuild a mill. I have one working and four wrecks.
We regularly host gatherings of craftspeople and artists. I know the
distance is awkward - but it is what I have to offer. I suspect that we
could have a lot of fun, and do a good thing in the process. Lets take
this lemon and make lemonade!
Another option would be for those of us with mills on trailers to
descend on Navasota when the wheat is ready to mill? ( my mill is not
on wheels)
