measure the approximate pitch (distance from tooth center to tooth 
center) and tooth width.  There are ages old standards for many kinds of 
chain.  Luckily, you don't have to deal with metric.

go to www.mcmaster.com
search for chain
pick the picture of the type you need... single loop coil wrapped link 
chain maybe?
look at available sizes and see if one might fit.

or if it is roller chain, search that in mcmaster.
