Kevin, I still have not ID'd my red mill that you came over and saw. If you
have any ideas, let me know. I have been able to trace its history back to
a farm that was covered when they flooded lake Toxaway to make the pump
storage facility over there.

So, nothing stamped on the end grains above the spout? ie; style (followed
by a number) and then a 4 digit number? Across both end grains of the bed
and runner housings?

I thought I would resend this in case it got missed. I was wondering what
Meadows book had the IHC serial #'s in it.

Thanks

Also, my camera died last weekend and I had to buy a new one. I'm going to
try to get pics of the shaker mechanism this evening.

Are you talking about Meadows Mills: The First Hundred Years? If so, where
in the book is it? If not, what other book is there that I must own? I
can't pass up another Meadows book.

I'll try to get those pics up this weekend.

cypress would be beautiful. Especially stained and varnished. The Meadows
book has the IHC s/n in it. I would like to see that sifter/spout set up.

I just acquired ANOTHER 20" Meadows sold by IHC. My first one was an early
model, bearing the WC MEADOWS stencil as well as the older IHC stencil.
This one has the MEADOWS only stencil and the later INTERNATIONAL stencil.
Last I talked with Wisconsin, there were no serial # lists on the IHC mills,
as their #'s were not the same format as regular Meadows. There is a very
odd weevil and sifter shaker arrangement I've never seen consisting of 3
exterior springs. I'll try to upload a few pics of it to my webpage and
link to it here in the next few days.

ANYWAY, I'm going to have to rebuild it, just like my last. I have acquired
some cypress to build it from. Anyone ever used cypress on a mill?
Pros/cons?

Thanks

Kevin
