I do have some GRINDERS (Jeb), but I also have another mill besides the new one. It is a little Meadows and I did have it in my office on my cabinet until my Dad came to visit once and it found its way to his place for a while.........I find it funny that whenever I buy something it makes its way to his place only to return when I load it back into my truck after he is sleeping and I hide it under stuff for the return to my collection and that is no joke! LOL! I will make a list though and I know that I need to get you photos of the GRINDER on my back porch. I will try and do that tomorrow, but I can't get to the one side without help moving it; it is not that big, but it is heavy...........I would like to move it alright..........right off of the porch and into my box trailer and then into the bed of your truck on my trip to my parents in December! She is a beauty, and I WILL get you some photos, but I sure hope the new owner does not repaint it
because it is all original paint, lettering and pin striping. I have to take my trailer to pick up another lathe that I bought a while back, so it will be going anyway. I bought two and gave one to Dad so we would have larger ones than we currently have.
The new Straub mill has stones in it, I called the phone number on the eBay listing and talked to the guy a while before I bid. I bought that mill to run with my 1/2 scale Case steam engine as soon as it is finished in the spring. Dad is to meet the seller at 1:00 tomorrow and I'm sure I'll get a call on his way home about it (along with a stack of receipts for six meals, two tanks of gas and who knows what else!) and how I won't see it or the money until I sneek it away one night! I don't know what is worse, sending him and mom to get stuff, or when I have to buy something of greater or equal value for my lovely bride! Take note single folks...... ;)
Does anyone have any information on Straub Mills? I can't seem to find much on the net.
Thank you,
Jeff Smith
