[Gristmillers] Introduction - Jeff Smith - Florida

Hey Jeff;

So you're the one that got that Straub mill, huh? I was interested but I didn't bid because I just can't afford to drive that far AGAIN, and it went for more than I was willing to shell out. Then again, I drove 6 hours one-way across NC to spend $200 on a decent corn sheller so I can't claim too much pity. I was wondering if that Straub was a stone or an iron plate grinder. From all accounts, it sure looks like a stone grinder. You're going to have to compile a list of all your GRINDERS and send it to me so we can compare notes! I still would like to see some other pictures of that bizarre wooden one you have. Good luck, and if you have time, swing by my place on the way through. I'm about 45 minutes east of I-95 if you can spare the time.

I have a few various types of mills, and I just purchased another grist mill on ebay this past week and would like to find out more information on all of my mills. I will have to compile a list of questions and return at a later date and hopefully they will be able to be answered by list members. I hope to send my father and mother to pick up my new mill just South of Pittsburgh, PA tomorrow if all goes well. I am looking forward to making it operational again. > > Is there a way to post photos on this list?> > Is there a way to find out all of the members of this list?> > Thank you,> > Jeff Smith> > > > --- On Thu, 10/30/08, Kevin Harbin <kharbin at nctv.com> wrote:> > > From: Kevin Harbin <kharbin at nctv.com>> > Subject: RE: [Gristmillers] Test> > To: gristmillers at gristmillers.com, steamenginesmitty at yahoo.com> > Date: Thursday, October 30, 2008, 6:21 AM> > Hello Jeff,> > I feel as the corn starts getting harvested the chatter> > here will p/u.
