Jeb,

A request for a picture and specs is the next question I will have.

She doesn't have any info at all on the old mills. She had earlier mentioned
having patterns for the 10" running plates, so if these are all the right size and
bolt pattern, it might be worth drumming up a few orders to get them to cast
a small run of them. The plates she has are priced at $32 each.

I don't know who they bought the company from, but she said they have only
owned it for 4 years.

I will keep the list up to date on any findings.

Ken

My mill is fully assembled and freshly painted so I didn't want to disassemble it to measure the plates. However, I measure the outside diameter of the housing and then subracted what I measured from the outside of the housing back to the edge of the plates on each side. I come up with about 8.5 inches in diameter.

A bigger question would be what do the bolt patterns look like from one 9" QC grinder to the next. Depending on whether it was an A10 like mine or a D10 could mean a lot of difference when it comes to mounting the plates to the frame. The running plate should pretty much be the same but the stationary could theoretically be different, especially if it was for a D10 which had 2 stationary and 2 rotating plates. If it was for a D10, which stationary plate would it be? The one with the opening from the hopper or the other side farthest away from the hopper. I would ask her to send you a picture of the plates in question to compare with your own and see if it is a close enough match to proceed.

Jeb
