[Gristmillers] QC #10 plate size.

My mill is fully assembled and freshly painted so I didn't want to disassemble it to measure the plates. However, I measure the outside diameter of the housing and then subracted what I measured from the outside of the housing back to the edge of the plates on each side. I come up with about 8.5 inches in diameter.

A bigger question would be what do the bolt patterns look like from one 9" QC grinder to the next. Depending on whether it was an A10 like mine or a D10 could mean a lot of difference when it comes to mounting the plates to the frame. The running plate should pretty much be the same but the stationary could theoretically be different, especially if it was for a D10 which had 2 stationary and 2 rotating plates. If it was for a D10, which stationary plate would it be? The one with the opening from the hopper or the other side farthest away from the hopper. I would ask her to send you a picture of the plates in question to compare with your own and see if it is a close enough match to proceed.

Thanks Jeb,

I have been in contact with someone at QCG and she said they had some stationary
plates that were marked "10B" and she thought they were 10 inch plates. She did
measure them and found, to her surprise, that they were 8 1/2 inch plates. This is
why I am wondering it the number designation is for a #10 mill, but since the catalog
says they have 9 inch plates, I am confused.

Take care.

Ken

Ken, Look on blizzardbranch.com. Look on the 2nd Corn Mill page. Does that look like the one to measure.
